What are peptides, and how are they synthesized?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids—typically made up of 2 to 50 building blocks—linked together by peptide bonds. They play a vital role in modern scientific research, supporting advances in pharmaceuticals, immunology, cell biology, and drug discovery.
All of our peptides are manufactured using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), the gold-standard method for producing high-quality research peptides. During this process, amino acids are added one by one to a growing chain attached to a resin support, ensuring exceptional accuracy at every step.
Once the full sequence has been assembled, the peptide is carefully cleaved from the resin, purified using reverse-phase HPLC, and freeze-dried into a stable powder for long-term storage and handling.
This highly controlled manufacturing process delivers peptides with outstanding sequence accuracy, purity, and batch-to-batch consistency. Every product undergoes rigorous in-house testing to verify identity and purity, and a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is available to download directly from each product page.
What sizes are available?
Vial sizes and peptide quantities vary by product and are listed on each product page. Common sizes are 2mg, 5mg, 10mg and 15mg, with some products available in larger quantities.
All vials are standard laboratory-grade borosilicate glass with crimped aluminium seals and rubber stoppers. Product pages list the exact peptide content per vial. If you need a quantity not listed on the website, let us know.
How should peptides be handled and stored?
To preserve the quality and stability of your peptides, proper storage and handling are essential. Follow these best practices to ensure optimal performance:
• Temperature: Keep lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptides refrigerated at 2–8°C for short-term storage, or frozen at -20°C for long-term preservation.
• Light Protection: Store peptides away from direct light. UV exposure can damage sensitive amino acids such as tryptophan and tyrosine.
• Moisture Control: Keep vials tightly sealed until you are ready to use them.
• Handling: Allow refrigerated or frozen vials to reach room temperature before opening.
Peptides should be handled in accordance with standard laboratory practices for research chemicals. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available upon request.
What are the primary research applications of peptides?
Peptides play a vital role in advancing research across a wide range of scientific disciplines. Their versatility makes them indispensable tools in applications such as:
• Cell Biology & Signalling
• Immunology
• Drug Discovery
• Biochemistry & Structural Biology
• Analytical Chemistry
We provide high-quality, research-grade peptides designed for these and other in vitro applications. Researchers are responsible for ensuring that all intended uses comply with relevant institutional policies.
Can you provide guidance or research protocal documents?
We’re happy to provide general reconstitution guidance for all of our products, including recommended solvents, typical working concentrations, and storage conditions after reconstitution. You’ll find this information listed on each product page on our website.
As a supplier of research chemicals, we do not provide detailed experimental protocols such as assay-specific procedures or application-specific methods. We recommend consulting published literature or your institution’s established protocols.
Do you offer discount codes?
Our pricing is simple, transparent, and fair. We operate on a fixed-pricing model, which means every customer pays the same price for the same high-purity, rigorously tested research peptides. Our prices are based on the quality and consistency of the products we supply—not on fluctuating discounts or special deals.
Are peptides legal to purchase in the UK?
Yes — research peptides are legal to buy, possess, and supply in the UK when intended for genuine scientific research. However, research peptides are not licensed medicines. They have not been assessed or approved by the MHRA for therapeutic use in humans. All products are sold exclusively for in-vitro research and laboratory use.
